Purpose and Application Conditions

The program is designed for the recognition of digits from digital displays, readings of pointer (analog) instruments, printed text, and colors.

Features

The MeterVision program can process up to 10 zones simultaneously in an image. As a result of zone processing, the following objects can be recognized:

  • Seven-segment digits, as well as dots and minus signs

  • Readings of pointer instruments

  • Printed text in Russian and English

  • Colors

The following types of images can be processed:

  • Frames from a webcam

  • Frames from an IP Camera

  • Video frames

  • A chosen photo or image

The program can transmit recognition results to external applications in two ways:

  • By writing results to text files

  • Over a socket connection

If necessary, the program can take screenshots with the image and recognition results for validation purposes. Screenshots can be made using the program’s button or via external commands through a text file.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Operating system:

    • Windows 7 or higher (Windows 10+ recommended)

    • Astra Linux or Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and higher

    • macOS 10.15+ (Catalina or later; Intel or Apple Silicon)

  • Processor: x86_64, 4 cores

  • RAM: 4 GB

  • Free disk space: 1 GB

  • Display

  • IBM-compatible keyboard and mouse

  • Graphics accelerator (recommended)

  • Webcam (if required)

  • IP camera (or a smartphone with an RTSP streaming app) with Wi‑Fi or LAN (if required)

Note

Different distributions are provided for different operating systems.

User Skill Level

The user should have basic skills in operating system usage, understand the application area of the program, and be familiar with basic safety procedures relevant to this field.
